You're Wonderful Birthdays

Good morning!
Here it is the last day of September! Wow! This month went by fast! Before we know it The Christmas Season will be upon us!

I have a couple of projects underway ... making cards for two different groups of people: first, birthday cards for the leader of a Mom's Group at our church; and secondly, cards of sympathy and thinking of you to go in Hope Boxes which will be given to women / families who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or SIDS.

For today I have 2 birthday cards to show you using the You're Wonderful stamp set. I just stamped and colored the other night, then later put some cards together the next day.

This is a great set for simple coloring... Love it!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day, folks.
Keep smiling, and may the wind be at your back!

You're Wonderful

Hi Stampers...
Just a quick post as I am soon heading for bed! It has been a packed weekend and I'm tired.
Just a couple weeks ago Stampin' Up! came out with a new photopolymer set called You're Wonderful. I love the images ... some to color! YEA!

I made this card a number of days ago ... I'm sure you will see more of this set in the near future.
It has many small sentiments that can be added to the banner - that makes this set very versatile!

here is the inside -

I hope you enjoyed your peek - I love to have visitors.
I hope you have - or have had - a restful sleep!
Blessings and HUGS,
Ruthie

Holiday Home

Hi everyone!
I am having a quiet day today after a rather exhausting 3 days! But they were 3 days I wouldn't have missed for the world! God is alive, and very real to me and all the ladies at the SPA Retreat! YEA!

Here is a card I made to take with me to give to a friend who has just moved into a little place of her own -
This set is called Holiday Home and is found in the Holiday Catty Stampin' Up! It is a photopolymer set and has sentiments for all occasions. There are 3 houses; a street lamp; a tree; Santa and his reindeer; pumpkin; leaves.... and much more. I know this set will get lots of use around here! :)

I colored the house with the Blendabilities & used markers on the leaves and pumpkins.

I have been in my Kraft Korner this morning as I have our Klub meeting here this Saturday... so I must get ready for that!

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Ruthie

Four Feathers

Hey Everyone!

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since I last posted. It's not because I have been away on an exotic vacation - it`s just because I hardly made it to my Craft Korner! Many other things have kept me very busy ... but I am hoping that next week will see things calming down for me. September is always a busy month for me because of getting back into full swing at our church with groups and such!

I do have a card for you using a new set from the Holiday Catty... called Four Feathers. This can be purchased as a bundle meaning that you get the stamp set and the framelits for a savings of  15% - gotta love that!

All Stampin`Up! product used - the sentiment is from an old retired wheel that I cut apart for the phrases!

Here is the inside...
I hope you enjoyed your quick visit here today!
I am off to a Ladies Retreat at one of the most peaceful. beautiful places in the world - Camp Peniel, Yarmouth County NS.

See you next week for sure!

Relaxation and Rest

Hi everyone!
The weekend will soon be upon us and all the kids and teachers will hopefully get some relaxation and rest before they start another full week!
Here are the last 2 cards I made with the scraps on my craft table...
Doesn't this little guy look like he is pretty relaxed? I love these Mouse stamps ... so much fun to color. I used a combination of Blendabilities and Copics on this guy!

Here is the last one ...
The yellow piece was a piece that was considered a GOOF during our Kraft Klub time - but I kept it because I knew I would get to use it at some point. YEA! Again, this is just a simple card that can be used for any occasion. You have to look closely to see that I did some Paper Piercing on this one - as well as a "pointillism" shading around the flowers!

Its a beautiful day today! ENJOY!

Insert Title Here!

I can't think of a title for this post! My mind just draws a blank .... you will have to come up with one! :)

Card number 3 from my "stuff" - this pottery image is from an "Our Daily Bread" set - when I was just a little girl my aunt and uncle had a pottery studio in their basement and it fascinated me to watch them create beautiful pieces. I like to use lots of color so I made these pots colorful!

Card #4 is pretty basic - Again, the background is made by inking up an embossing folder - this time I placed the card base inside and pressed down with my brayer - and I have a honeycomb background. I love to have "just because" cards around - sometimes I want to give someone a card just because! :)

I took these flowers and covered them with crystal effects. If you look real close you will see where I must have had a bubble or two. I don't use crystal effects a lot - why? I don't know. I guess I don't think of it! Does that mean I have too much stuff? Huummmmmm!

Well, peeps! That is your peek for today!
The month of September and all that it entails is truly upon us! I hope you find time for some rest and relaxation ... I am heading to the SPA weekend at Camp Peniel the middle of the month - always a great time of fun, fellowship, food, and resting in Him! We always have a silent auction to raise money for Camp and I take a couple packages of cards ... these cards will probably end up in one of those packages! :)

Blessings and HUGS!

Making Beauty From The "Scraps" -

Isn't that what God does with us? He takes all our left over pieces, or messy stuff, our scraps - and turns us into beautiful images of Himself! I am so glad He is still working on me!

This first pic shows my craft table last Saturday morning. All this "stuff" had piled up there and it was time to do something with it. I started by looking thru it and doing a little sorting - can you see the green and orange piece to the left,  underneath a few bits? Last night - Sunday - hubby decided to go visit a friend who is in the hospital and he says, "Hon, do you have a get well card I can take? A masculine one?" Well, gee! I have a lot of flowery cards, pretty cards.... but a masculine one? No. I went in my Korner and grabbed that green and orange piece, some DSP Typeset, twine ...and a masculine get well card was born! And I didn't take a picture. Go figure! You will have to let your imaginations go with that one!

This is the first card I made from the stash of "stuff" -
I took my woodgrain embossing folder, inked it up on one side, placed the white CS one it, closed it, ran my brayer over the top to get good pressure and here you see the background piece! Then I sponged an area in the center and arranged some flowers and leaves around it. Of course I had to add some pearls! The flowers are from Peaceful Petals set. This picture really doesn't do this card justice! I will probably replicate this one in different colrs!

Here is another one -
Doesn't this little guy look peaceful and content? I have a few of these mouse stamps - they are so much fun to color! All the CS I use is Stampin' Up! I tried to pull all the colors used on the image into the CS. I think I mastered that! I find, lots of times, when I have a colored image like this one, a sentiment takes away from the actual image. So I leave the sentiment off and then I can write any message inside - for any occasion!

Well, peeps, I am off to visit with my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. But I have scheduled another post for Wednesday.... with more cards from my Korner. so - stay tuned...

Hugs,
Ruthie
